Over 9,000 books are in the HIS Library collection and these books can be searched online by author, title, keyword and more. The library also posts Web pages for both elementary and secondary students announcing the latest library news, activities, and new additions to the collection. In addition, the HIS Library maintains a subscription to the Encyclopedia Britannica Online. |
The Library Collection
The HIS Library holds over 9,000 titles, almost evenly divided among three categories.
• Easy Fiction: Picture books for Pre K - 3rd grade
• Fiction: 4th grade - Adult
• Information & Biography: Pre K - Adult
There are also newspapers, magazines and CDs available.
Encyclopedia Britannica Online
The Encyclopedia Britannica Online is a rich and wonderful resource giving students instant access to four complete encyclopedias, an atlas, learning materials, magazines, Web sites, and videos. Click the image at left (or the link above) to launch the encyclopedia but note you must enter a username and password for access. Please ask Ms. Riggins or your teacher for details.
HIS recognizes the great value of instilling a joy for reading and teachers encourage students to use and enjoy the library.
