Welcome to Hokkaido International School. 
We are the only WASC-accredited, JCIS-member International School in Hokkaido, with a 62-year history of academic excellence and a legacy of graduating well-rounded and service-oriented young people who go on to both personal and professional success all over the world. 

Through academic pursuit, character development, and global engagement, our students grow into mindful leaders, committed to building a brighter future.  

As Head of School, I am proud to be part of the HIS story. 
My wife Yukari and I have one son in HIS, and he loves everything the school has to offer (while his brother, still a baby, eagerly awaits his turn to become a Husky, too).  As a family, we feel incredibly fortunate to live in the beautiful city of Sapporo, and to be part of the HIS community.  My focus--in collaboration with our staff, students, families, and community at large--is making sure that HIS continues to innovate and thrive in all the years to come.
