Dear HIS Community,

We are excited to officially announce that we will be offering a Summer School program at the Sapporo campus this summer, beginning Monday, June 21st and running from 9:00–15:00 every weekday through Friday, July 16th. Students may be enrolled for 1, 2, 3, or the entire 4 weeks. Full details, costs, and application materials will be finalized and released by mid-April.  

It has been refreshing to enter the Spring with some modest loosening of pandemic restrictions on activities and relatively low case counts in Hokkaido (at least compared to December and January).  However, according to experts, the possibility of a “4th wave” of cases in April remains very real.  As a school, we are staying vigilant with our existing ventilation, distancing, temperature check, and mask protocols, and we ask that the whole HIS community continue to exercise caution in personal covid safety decisions.   We are very grateful to everyone for all of their work to keep the community safe.  The finish line is on the horizon, but we are not quite there yet. 

The snow is melting at breathtaking speed and warmer weather is on the way!  Despite the challenges of our times, we will continue finding ways to enjoy this beautiful Hokkaido season together as a school community.
