MP3 News 3/1

It has been another productive week in the MP3 classroom.  Here are some photos of our snowshoe adventures.

Literacy

Our writers have stayed hard at work, editing and revising their Non-fiction reports.  In our mini-lesson, we took a look at the writing trait of sentence fluency and how great writers need to vary their sentence lengths to stay engaging.  We are preparing to publish in the coming week and look forward to sharing them with you.

IPC

A few perfect scores and near misses on Wednesday’s geography test.  It is a joy to see the growth from the pre and post-assessments and watch students show initiative to study and learn new content.  Next week begins our next IPC unit: “the story of English.”

In this unit we will be exploring:

  • How the English language has developed over the last 1,500 years
  • Who has invaded and settled in Britain over time
  • What everyday life has been like for people living in Britain, and how this is reflected in their language
  • How English has spread around the world
  • How the invention of the printing press changed our world
  • Endangered languages
  • Have a wonderful weekend!
