MP3 News 5/30

It has been another productive week in the Mp3 classroom.  Congratulations to our triangle math group for demonstrating mastery of all times tables up to x12!

Literacy-
Students have flash drafted, re-drafted and revised their second literacy essays.  Students looked at analyzing craft and author’s tone to support their thesis.  Students used the literacy planet platform to practice weekly spelling lists.  We continue to enjoy our read aloud of Harry Potter.

IPC
Congratulations to students for great scores on their physical geography tests.  We started a new inquiry with a look at the Mekong river and the endangered species that inhabit it, such as the Mekong Giant Catfish.  Students then chose a species that depends on river conservation to research and present to the class.  Students presented on the Macquarie Perch, Vaquita, Indus River Dolphin and more.  In the end, students voted for a species they would like to symbolically adopt from the World Wildlife Fund.

Have a wonderful weekend
