Middle School students spent some time planning how to teach me all kinds of cool things, then shared their skills with me. I learned so much from them!
This week, students also created their Middle School Values poster and agreed as a class community to help each other grow and live into their values. Students finished the Brainwave mini-unit, after learning how their senses connect to their memory, what happens to their bodies when they're under stress, and the six needs of the adolescent brain. Next week, students will demonstrate their learning through the Brainwave Celebration of Learning!
Students also checked out library books to kick off their independent reading for the year, finalized their math teams, and completed their IXL math diagnostic.
In other news, construction on the new Middle School classroom is coming along - this week we got a floor! We're all looking forward to the day we can move into the new space!
