HEAD OF SCHOOL

Dear HIS Community,

It feels great to get the 2021-2022 school year started! All of our anticipation and preparation paid off, with wonderful opening ceremonies in both Sapporo and Niseko, and happy and excited students during our opening weeks of classes.  At all age levels, students are laying a foundation for success this year.  I’ve seen this watching EY students learn critical routines, MP1s completing their “who is in the school” pictures identifying key adults, MP2s building community out on the field with their “find someone” scavenger hunt, MP3s brainstorming service learning opportunities, middle schoolers jumping into the IMYC Discovery unit, and high schoolers figuring out their new schedules and organizing folders full of syllabi.  It has been a joy to watch.

Thank you again to everyone for a strong start, and a special warm welcome to all of our new staff and new students.  As always, it’s a great time to be a Husky.

Onward!
