Fresh Snow

On February 2, 2023, the EY children came to school to a fresh blanket of snow.  This was the perfect provocation for our inquiry into footprints and the properties of snow.  After a quick morning meeting, we put our snowsuits on and headed outdoors.  The children were excited to make their marks in the fresh snow and headed for the hill.  As they walked through the snow they would often say “look!” and were excited about the new paths they were making. The snow was like a fresh canvas with multiple artists contributing their own individual marks to the artwork.

After some time, the rest of the elementary school joined us and added their own traces to the snow.
