HIS alumnus shares valuable wisdom with 11th and 12th graders

This week, juniors and seniors were given an inside peek into the life of a college student. Haruhito Sakurai, a graduate of the class of 2021, currently attending the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, volunteered his time to come back to HIS to share his experiences with juniors and seniors. He talked about the difficulties of transitioning to university life in a new country, navigating the change from a small school to a very large school, figuring out a major or concentration, and the ins and outs of the college social scene, including clubs and roommates. Juniors and seniors were able to ask their burning questions about what they can expect after graduation, and it was a great opportunity to exchange ideas between an alumnus and the current student body. If other alumni currently in the university are interested in sharing their experiences, please feel free to contact the college counselors, Ms. Harmon (lharmon@his.ac.jp) and Mr. Fazio (nfazio@his.ac.jp).
