The Responses to Olivia Maune's Award-Winning "A White Rabbit"

Roman's Perspective

This story is a little bit of a hard one to understand. But the way Olivia writes White Rabbit is absolutely beautiful in how she separates the story. The technique of writing from different perspectives in a linear/nonlinear way is very intriguing. One part that sticks out to me is how this technique causes the audience to really wonder what is happening, who is doing what, and overall draws them into the story more. The mystery of who is doing the assassinating was my favorite part, as I am someone who likes a good murder mystery. If you like stories written in unique ways, then I really suggest reading White Rabbit by Olivia!

Ariel's Perspective

Rei is one of the most important characters in the story because he often acts in ways the readers don’t expect him to. At the beginning of the story, Ryo watches him rescue the injured rabbit: “The kid held the rabbit up to his chest. The animal stopped struggling all of a sudden, as though it knew it was safe now.” This makes readers believe Rei is a kind and compassionate character. But later in the story, readers learn a secret of his that unravels two contrasts: whether he’s the villain or the hero. If you want to find out, read “White Rabbit” by Olivia Maune.

Ellie's Perspective

The story world plays an important role in developing the story. A White Rabbit takes place in a cold and snowy city, and the setting creates a quiet and tense atmosphere that reflects the character’s hidden motives and moral struggles. The snow is crucial because it covers everything equally, revealing how the truth can be hidden beneath a clean, innocent appearance. This strongly supports the story’s exploration of justice and responsibility between people, and who they really are, discovering their true selves. As different characters have different backgrounds, everything lines up through connected locations and events. If you want to experience a thought-provoking story, filled with conflict and interesting characters, then this story is for you.
