The 2023 Summer Program @ HIS

This year, the Sapporo campus of Hokkaido International School restarted its Summer Program for students. Over the course of four weeks, students explored different topics connected to Hokkaido: the history, landforms, waterways, and finally Hokkaido’s abundant wildlife.

Each week, students visited Tsukisamu Gymnasium to practice ice skating and finished their week with a field trip to destinations around Sapporo and surrounding areas.

We welcomed over 70 students from all over the world to the 2023 Summer Program. Students who attended the program hailed from Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, and the United States. Friendships were formed in the classrooms and on the playground of the school and there were plenty of laughs and smiles along our four-week journey.

Information about the 2024 Summer Program at HIS should be available soon. Please stay tuned for an email and website post about the format and dates for next year’s edition.

We have a saying on campus here: “Once a Husky, always a Husky.” This statement holds true for all the families who visited us for the 2023 Summer Program. You are now a member of our pack. We hope to see you back soon.

Stay Awesome,
