On the 28th of December, our dorm students, some of our faculty team, and our amazing culinary team came together to create a memorable Thanksgiving dinner.

A Heartwarming “Dormsgiving” Tradition

Thanksgiving is a time for reflection, gratitude, and coming together with loved ones to share in the season's spirit. Being away from the holidays can often feel lonely and challenging. HIS took it upon us to bring the holiday spirit and warmth of family and community to campus with a delightful event we call “Dormsgiving.”

One of the most special aspects of “Dormsgiving” was the presence of our teachers, who joined us in the dorm to celebrate. It was a rare opportunity for students and teachers to connect beyond the classroom. Teachers brought a variety of dishes, some traditional Thanksgiving favorites as well as meals inspired by their cultural backgrounds.

A special thanks

A special thanks to the dorm culinary team who made this meal amazing and one to remember. Tim and Ravi, prepared and put in so much dedication toward making this night memorable. Their attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed. Not only did they prepare classic Thanksgiving meals, but also made foods requested by a couple of our dorm students so that everyone could enjoy something special. The chefs poured so much time and effort into making this night feel just like home.

A Feast to Remember

The dining tables were filled with beautiful flower arrangements and plates full of delicious turkey, mashed potatoes, salads, and, of course, pumpkin pie. As everyone gathered to enjoy the meal, the room was filled with cheerful conversations. Adding to the magic was the fun live music, done by some of our dorm students and teachers which set the perfect tone for the night. From soothing to lively pop soundtracks, the music created an uplifting environment for the event.

Appreciation

As the evening unfolded, it became clear that Thanksgiving is not only about the food (though some would disagree) but about connecting with one another. We want to extend our deepest thanks to the chefs who prepared the meal, the teachers who joined us, and the students who brought their enthusiasm. Dormsgiving was a true reminder of what makes our school so beautiful.
