Fall Festival
by Anneke Egbert
The Fall Festival is an annual event enjoyed by Huskies and non-Huskies alike. The secondary students (6th grade +) each prepared a stall. There were milkshakes, face painting, tacos, curry, and even a place to put your friends in jail—it was all fun and food.
It took place on Saturday, November 2nd, and students arrived early to help set up their stalls. The event was running smoothly, as the ticket sales were good and many of the stalls were popular. Then it was time for the raffle.
People had been buying raffle tickets all day, excited for the big event at 1:30. There were many prizes ranging from chocolate to a Meta Quest 3000 (VR headset). There were also hotel coupons, robux coupons, ice cream coupons, lego sets, money, and sweet treats. In the end, the grand prize of the Meta Quest 3000 went to a Japanese kid whose name I do not know.
Now, for an interview with a 7th-grade worker. Hana Kamimura is from Boston, USA, and she moved to Japan three years ago. This is her first Fall Festival, and we’re wondering what she thought!
What Stall/s did you help run?
Bingo and milkshakes
What was your favorite stall you visited?
My favorite stall was the face painting stall, because if you pay just 100 more yen, you get a custom face painting, and I went there with my friend. I was dressed as a devil, so I got devil face paint, and my friend got minion face paint. It was funny.
Overall, how was the fall festival?
It was really, really, really, really, really, really fun. There were all sorts of unique stalls with food from all over the world. Everything was really delicious and I enjoyed myself.
We hope you join us next year, for another round of stalls and food!
