Snow, Stillness, and Substack: Inside JaPanglerized

In Pangier’s classroom, we come back to tsuchikau a lot!

Tsuchikau—the idea of growing something with care over time.

In publications, you see tsuchikau in how we edit, design, and learn to trust the process. It’s also something Mr. Pangier lives out both in classes and in his writing. 

His Substack, JaPanglerized, feels like an extension of that mindset. Pangier carries a quiet patience in how his writing doesn’t rush to conclusions or try to impress. His writing moves at its own pace, the way a long winter in Hokkaido slows everything down and makes you notice more. 

Being “JaPanglerized” starts to make sense the more you read. Pangier blends his place, northern Japan, and perspective. He does this through reflection, teaching, and attentiveness. There's definitely Hokkaido in it too, where stillness, nature, and unnoticed growth are blended into each section. 

Each part of the Substack builds on that in its own way. Soul & Ikigai leans into questions about purpose and living with intention. There’s No Place Like Hokkaido brings those ideas into real places to show how environment and mindset connect. Verse & Story takes a step back from explanation and lets meaning come through in a more creative way. 

Whether you’re attracted to thoughtful prose, quiet philosophy, or something that breaks from the algorithm, JaPanglerized is worth reading. JaPanglerized feels authentic and refreshing to read. When the internet is filled with attention seekers and garbage, JaPanglerized feels like a breath of fresh air.

JaPanglerized teaches beyond the classroom. No one has everything figured out, but it's about setting the tone, creating space, and leading in a way that fosters self-direction.
