What is M.U.S.H.
M.U.S.H. is an acronym that stands for “Multicultural Understanding and Service House”. As the name suggests, M.U.S.H. is all about providing help and service to others while understanding aspects of the diverse cultures in our community. From the beginning of its foundation, M.U.S.H. has taken this objective into mind and has expanded on the different ways the club would approach these concepts, such as holding a weekly Trash Clean-Up day. As the years have passed, the club's popularity has only risen more and more which has granted the members more opportunities for providing service. Through different fundraisers and student-led activities hosted by the school, M.U.S.H. has been able to create a club budget which has helped in funding projects that may cost money. Through the support from their peers and the school, M.U.S.H. hopes to continue its efforts in providing service that will help save our world.
What Does M.U.S.H. Do?
As mentioned above, M.U.S.H. is a service group with the goal of helping the community and the world. To accomplish these goals, M.U.S.H. has conducted different activities that would be done throughout the school year. Some of these activities include:
- Weekly Trash Clean-Ups (See diagram and video below)
- Monthly blood donations (For those who are sixteen or older)
- Posting messages on Instagram celebrating service days
- Giving out hand-written messages with words of encouragement
- Taking care of the school garden
- Donating to orphanages
- Raising money through fundraisers to support people in need
These are just a few examples of the different activities M.U.S.H. participates in. As the club gains more members and support, they hope to combine their efforts into making long-term projects for the clubs, ones where the project would continue on for the next few years. Some ideas that were presented were donating to families in foreign countries who may not be living in the best conditions. Although plans such as these would cost quite a bit of money, M.U.S.H. believes that by combining the efforts of the HIS community these bigger goals could be accomplished.
